This is a portrait.

Really like this photo from a series on the Lomotion forums. There’s just something very intriguing and mysterious (duh i suppose) of a portrait where you don’t see the face. Simply lovely and just an idea that I like so much that I have to store away for an inspirational day.

Chase Jarvis‘ podcast on 32 questions is quite an insightful look into the life of a commercial photographer. How did he get into the industry? An awesome self-made portfolio is a creative individual’s best namecard. Best policy? Under promise and over deliver. Always OVER DELIVER. That’s what keeps his regular clients his regular clients. Best mantra for life? Do what you wanna do. Nuff said!

Starboard!

Went out to sea for Western Circuit at Raffles Marina last sunday with my mom’s new 70-300mm. Boy am I impressed. Zippy and very accurate AF and it’s sharp to boot. Brilliant lens! Too bad the weather wasn’t good at all.. grey skies and bored waters.

Looking through the exifs, I realise that I shot mainly at my widest, 70mm. I should try going closer, all the way to 300mm next time, and see what I get. :)
